Claudia is a multidisciplinary storyteller from northern Spain covering stories on migration, climate issues, and culture. Her work across multiple countries and diverse communities has shaped an ethical storytelling approach that aims to document the world thoughtfully, avoiding extractive practices, harm, stereotypes, or colonial narratives.

As Head of Communications for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Claudia spent over four years producing short films, articles, and visual essays on drought, conflict, and gender issues in Somalia and Kenya. Her work has been published in El País, Planeta Futuro, IOM, UNSOM, UNICEF, and other United Nations platforms. During this time, she also supported PBS NewsHour, The New York Times, Deutsche Welle, and Reuters in covering Somalia’s crises.

A La Caixa fellow, Claudia is currently pursuing an M.S. in Documentary at Columbia Journalism School, set to graduate in 2025. She attended the Eddie Adams Workshop in 2023 and holds BAs in Audiovisual Media and Advertising, with a focus on art direction.

In her free time, Claudia enjoys photography, film, travel, and creative collaborations. Fluent in Spanish and English, she has lived in Spain, Kenya, Mexico, The Netherlands, and Thailand.
